I didn’t expect towels to make a difference in my daily skincare, but these genuinely did, and I’m so thankful for that. I’ve had them for several months now, and I’ve been unsure how to Keep them pill-free and maintain their texture. When I first got them, the texture was luxurious at the same time, slightly exfoliating and soothing to my less than youthful now but still very sensitive rosacea-prone skin. Between uses, I wash them in a delicate cycle separately and in cool water. I use fragrance-free, dye-free, natural cleansers (Dr. Bronner’s or similar natural cleansers).
Even though I’ve been gentle with them, they still seem to have changed texture somewhat. Of course, the texture will change with time and use, but within six months, I’m already concerned about the long-term durability of these beautiful ( albeit pricey ) towels.
Once, when I first got them, my husband put one in the dryer on low heat, and although it didn’t ruin it, I can't use it on my face anymore bc it's too rough.
Aside from that one, all the rest (I bought 6) have been air-dried. Six towels (to me) were an investment, but it was worth it to have more in rotation and lessen the wear and tear from frequent washing. But now I'm questioning how to justify the cost since most have (sadly) lost the luxurious, soothing texture that made my skin so happy only a few months ago.
